Dock Park & Troqueer 27th April 2024
Pre-entry form for this event - this is the preferred route of entry but there will be limited entry on the day.  Closing date for pre-entries is 23:00 on 22nd April.

For people new to the sport a 'dibber' is an electronic chip that stores your time at each control: if you do not own one then you can use a club dibber but need to let us know that you need it.  One dibber is needed for each individual or pair (if two people are going round together).

Please remember that should you develop Covid symptoms before the event you must not participate in the event.

Start and Finish are both located in Dock Park

Courses on offer are:
Short (Entirely within Dock Park) -  1.0 km
Medium (Part Dock Park and part the grass area and quiet streets over the pedestrian bridge to Troqueer) -  2.4 km
Long (Mainly in the Troqueer residential area, finishing in Dock Park) -  5 km

Start times will be 10:30 - 12:00.

Dibbers will be used for the time taken on the courses - the only SI boxes in use will be the Start and the Finish.  At other locations we will be using the traditional street O method.  For each control you need to enter on a piece of paper the answer to the question on the paper e.g.  Number on lamp post  ____.  So remember to bring something to write with.

Kites and SI units may be in use on the short course.

The short course is suitable for younger juniors and less experienced orienteers.
The medium course is suitable for older juniors or younger ones accompanied by an adult,
The long course is suitable for people over 16 or someone accompanied by someone over 16 - it involves  crossing of a busy road.

You will need to bring a pen or pencil.

Courses close at 13:00.

Entry costs are £4 per adult, £2 per junior, with a 50% surcharge also in place for non-members.  Payment details will be sent out with the final details for the event.
