Gifted and talented students are those students whose abilities, talents and potential for accomplishment are so exceptional, or developmentally advanced, that they require special provisions to meet their educational needs. In accordance with state and national guidelines, the Aurora Public School's Gifted Education Team has developed a process to gather data in order to match appropriate programming to identified student need. As the person nominating this child for possible gifted identification: By completing this form, you are giving permission for the gifted education team to begin the identification process, which includes building a robust body of evidence of qualitative and quantitative data, including but not limited to, additional assessments such as the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT), student interview, portfolio of work, and tests of achievement.
