Request to Serve Outside Food to Students
Due to state guidelines in Chapter 169, section 10-215f, along with our Local School Wellness Policy, outside food served to students is prohibited without the written granted permission from the Manager of Food and Nutrition Services or their designee. This applies to food that is intended to be shared with students; this is not applicable to an individual student’s or staff member’s lunch/food for individual consumption.

In order to obtain written permission and assistance with having outside food in your school/classroom, please contact the following individuals: 

  1. Randall Mel, Food and Nutrition Services Manager, at melr@mpsct.org,

  2. Jasmine James, School Health Supervisor, at jamesj@mpsct.org, If a parent/guardian requests to bring food to be shared into their child’s classroom/school, the classroom teacher should contact the above mentioned people before allowing food into the classroom.
