The Lewiston Area Chamber of Commerce has established a Covid-19 Relief Fund to provide some assistance to our local chamber member businesses negatively impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. The Chamber has directly contributed $5,000 of its reserves to jump-start this important initiative.
To establish an adequate Relief Fund that would allow us to continue awarding grants to local member businesses in need, WE NEED YOUR HELP. For many of the small businesses in our community, this unprecedented shut down has created drastic revenue cuts. This is where our friends and neighbors near and far, can step in to help keep our small businesses alive. It is our hope that everyone, who has had the opportunity to experience our vibrant little community, can find a way to help support this effort, either by donating to the Fund or sharing this information.
Applicants will be offered the opportunity to apply for up to a $250.00 grant to assist their businesses. A three-person panel will review the application submitted by chamber business members in good standing. Grants will be considered for business expenses such as -- lease payment, rent payment, utility payment, insurance payment, emergency maintenance/repair, or similar expenses.
Please note the following requirements/information:
1.
Applicants must be a member business of the Lewiston Area Chamber of Commerce in good standing.
2.
Applicants may receive a phone call or email if further clarification is needed on the application.
3.
You may submit a copy of a bill listed in the categories above or a similar type of expense.
4.
The application will be reviewed as soon as possible. A member from the panel will contact you with a timeline.
5.
Applications that are approved will be processed by making payment directly to the creditor.
6.
The panel may request a follow up with the applicant to ascertain how their experience was and to receive any suggestions for future grants.
