Idle Crimes & Heavy Work “Living Monument” Workshop Series Registration

About the Workshops

Idle Crimes & Heavy Work (ICHW) is a dance research collaboration exploring Black women's incarcerated labor, resistance and restoration in Georgia. Help us create a community-driven, site-responsive “Living Monument” to memorialize those whose forced labor built Atlanta, through dances of resistance, love, and joy.

Each workshop invites participants into a creative process of using memory, movement, and imagination to explore the question: What is a “living monument?” How can we use our bodies to honor painful pasts, preserve sacred spaces, and celebrate our community?
