The Carolyn F. Leep Scholarship was established in 1988 in honor of Carolyn and her service to the Michigan School Vocal Music Association. As head of the Malecki Music Inc. Choral/Vocal Department, Carolyn worked tirelessly for 20 years to provide MSVMA members with materials to support their efforts as music educators.

Scholarships are awarded to MSVMA members in January and must be used by the end of the next calendar year. Applicants must have at least three years teaching experience in Michigan and be able to return to MSVMA activities after using the scholarship. Applicants may be pursing an advanced degree or wish to enroll in a non-degree choral music institute or workshop. Potential areas of study include choral conducting, composition with emphasis on choral/vocal music, vocal music education and church music with vocal/choral emphasis.

Applications will be reviewed by the Carolyn F. Leep Scholarship Committee which is chaired by the past president. Applicants must be available for an interview via conference call prior to the Michigan Music Conference.

Application Deadline:  November 15, 2019

Scholarship must be used by December 31, 2021.
