2022 TEEL Leader Nomination Form
Teens Engaged in Emerging Leadership (TEEL) is a workshop for high school age youth to gain valuable leadership skills while connecting with peers from other counties and regions. It's an incredible experience, but it doesn't happen on its own. It takes a team of older youth and young adults working alongside our staff and current State Ambassadors. As Local Educators, you have far better knowledge of the youth in your programs, and so we're hoping we can ask for your help to identify prospective youth to be part of the TEEL Planning Team.

Who can be a TEEL leader?
Any 4-H youth in grades 12 or 13 or who have previously attended TEEL are eligible to be leaders. We also welcome any recent 4-H alumni to join. Prospective leaders should have a desire to work with and positively influence high school-age youth. Prior service in leadership roles or attendance at BLU or TEEL is a plus, but it’s not necessary.

What will TEEL leaders do?
Leaders will work alongside the state Civic Engagement and Leadership Team and members of the current class of State Ambassadors to develop lessons and activities for the workshop. Leaders will also select guest speakers and lead small groups of youth through the experience. They will also receive training on facilitating discussions and will have access to many different resources, activities, and lesson plans.

Please fill out the form below and click to submit to nominate a youth or young adult to serve as a TEEL leader. We will then follow up with them and invite them to apply.

If you have questions about this application or about TEEL in general, please contact Sutton Stewart (stewa313@umn.edu).
