Job Description:
As the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at Arka Aerospace, you will play a critical role in the design and development of aerospace and defense products. You will lead a team of engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our products meet stringent industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing complex mechanical systems, deep knowledge of milgrade certifications, and experience in the defense sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical design and development of aerospace and defense products from concept to production.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, including milgrade certifications, IP rating, JSS55555, and other relevant specifications.
- Lead the testing activities with various NABL Accreditation labs
- Navigate and ensure adherence to military and aerospace regulations and standards.
- Manage the certification process for products, collaborating with relevant authorities and agencies.
- Select materials suitable for aerospace and defense applications, considering factors such as strength, weight, and durability.
- Oversee the prototyping process, coordinating with development teams to bring designs to physical prototypes.
- Conduct comprehensive testing to validate the performance, reliability, and compliance of prototypes.
- Create detailed design documentation, including specifications, drawings, and bills of materials (BOM), ensuring traceability to industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of design changes and updates throughout the development process.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing technical leadership and guidance.
- Lead design reviews, incorporating feedback and ensuring alignment with project goals.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 of experience in mechanical design engineering for aerospace and defense products.
3. Extensive knowledge of milgrade certifications, IP rating, JSS55555, and other relevant standards.
4. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and FEA tools.
5. Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and aerospace-grade components.
6. Experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams.
7. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
