The Community Art, Writing & Design Showcase Submission
Thank you for your interest in Firefly's first greater Athens community art, writing & design showcase! We would love for you to exhibit your work in our very first show. This art, writing or craft can be created in creative formal classes or created on your free time at home. This event is to show and share all of the creative pursuits of fabulous young homeschooled artists around Athens. We want to see any and all of the art, writing and craftwork you are proud of! 
  • Art submitted can be made with any medium (Examples may include 2-D flat work such as drawings, poetry, writings, comics, paintings, collage, printmaking, illustrations, etc or 3-D works such as pottery, mosaics, sewn sculptures, dolls, jewelry, woodwork, crochet, knit, quilting, polymer clay figures, recycled art, mixed media, sculptures, etc. ). 2-D art does not need to be framed. It is up to your discretion if you would like to frame your art or submit as-is. 2-D art that is not framed may be attached to a backing board for display.
  • You can submit up to 10 artworks. Please submit as many as you'd like. They can be made of different mediums or all the same type ( Examples - paint, charcoal, fabric, clay, marker, metal, etc). Work will be displayed along with other students work.
  • Your art can be for sale or just for display. Any sales are at the discretion of students and parents. (Please have a Paypal or Venmo account available to use if items are for sale). This exhibit will take place during the KID CO market sale as well. All purchases can be taken after the shows exhibit the day of at 3pm. 
  • The Community Art & Design Showcase will take place on Saturday, April 13th at 1pm-3pm at the Princeton Methodist Church 2390 S Lumpkin St, 30606, Athens, Feel free to invite family, friends, neighbors and your greater community. 
  • This exhibit showcase is non-competitive. We want to create a creative and open environment for young homeschooled artists. BUT prizes are fun! All student exhibitors will be entered into raffles that will be drawn during the exhibition. We have amazing prize donations from K.A. Artists Shop, Golden Paint and Dick Blick!!
  • It is totally FREE to exhibit. All efforts to put on the show and support young artists are through The Firefly Family Engagement committee and Firefly volunteers.
  • A fundraiser raffle for the Firefly Community will also take place during the showcase and market. Donations from many local vendors will be on display.

All artwork can be submitted a number of ways. 
-If a Firefly student, it can be brought to Firefly and dropped off in room 201 and given to Sue on Thursdays (Upstairs, first door on your left). Pieces must be dropped off by March 28th at 4pm
-Artwork can also be dropped off at the Princeton Methodist Church on drop off dates TBD.
Please make sure pieces are in a folder, bag or box and labelled with your name and titles. You can write on back or use stickers, tags, etc. If displaying small items, Please tag individually. Pieces must be dropped off beforehand to allow for organizing and display prep. Any pieces not dropped off by March 28th at 4pm, will not be displayed. If you need extra help with large pieces, etc, please comment below. 
Your work will be exhibited with other students works. Do you have any requests for displaying your work?  ( on table, hung, together, etc)

When students are dropping off art work, Pieces will be safely handled and later displayed with care. Please be advised Firefly is not responsible for any damage or accidents that may occur during this time. If a student wishes to include packaging for an item that is for sale, please include that as well.

Please read and agree below-
As a participant in this show, I understand I am responsible for dropping off work to be displayed, and will include my name, information and title by March 28th.  I accept all responsibility of safety for my work and understand my art will be displayed and exhibited on April 13th at the Princeton Methodist Church. My pieces will be on exhibit from 1pm-3pm, after which I am responsible for their removal at 3pm on April 13th. If my artwork is for sale, I am responsible for any transaction that may take place. Once paid for, I will allow the customer to retain my art at 3pm. I agree that my art may be photographed and used in marketing solely for the purpose of social media, flyers, etc. I retain all rights to my work.
