Plaintiffs Law Society Interest Form

We are seeking to start a Plaintiff's Law Society (PLS) this upcoming fall, inspired by the difficulties experienced by students attempting to pursue a career in private plaintiff-side work. Because plaintiff firms often lack the capital or infrastructure to engage in formal law school recruitment programs, forming connections with these firms often falls on individual students. Plaintiffs Law Society intends to bridge the gap between plaintiffs’ firms and William and Mary students through speaker engagement, meet-and-greets with plaintiffs’ attorneys, and the creation of a directory of attorneys and firms willing to employ students or engage in informational interviews. Many students who come to law school do so to engage in mission-oriented work but are unable to do so because of law school debt and financial strain; we hope to introduce them to a financially viable alternative to governmental or nonprofit work where they can still pursue their passions.
