GirlsCARE- Climate Action for Resilience & Empowerment invites you to apply for our 4-months climate change mentorship programme for young women across the Caribbean. The programme was conceptualised based on the recognition for the inclusion of young women from the region in global dialogues and decision-making processes on climate change. Young women and girls in the Caribbean and the world over are leading climate action, in some cases with little support to successfully engage these processes. The programme seeks to promote an intersectional feminist approach to climate activism, to address climate drivers and solutions that challenge the structural and systemic disparities that are driving the climate crisis, by enhancing capacity as advocates and activists.
Each year the programme accepts 15 young women who are serious about enhancing their knowledge and skills to lead and support climate action in the region and beyond. The programme pairs each mentee with a mentor based on a matching process conducted by the Coordinators. The programme will feature at least 10 seminars over 4 months and a group final project to integrate and apply the concepts and experience gained from the programme.
