HCA Summer 2024 CIT Info form

Thank you for your interest in being a volunteer counselor for the HCA this summer. The minimum grade we are seeking for this summer are students entering 8th grade or higher. These are unpaid positions.

CITs will be responsible for helping an instructor with setting up/cleaning up, assisting students, conducting age-appropriate games with the students, and other operational tasks.

Please fill out the information below and check off all the shifts that you are available and willing to volunteer for during the summer. Depending on the volume of applications, we CAN NOT guarantee that we will be able to accept everyone into the Volunteer CIT program. If you have any questions, please send an email to HCA: stephanie@hopartscenter.org

Application Period: January 1–May 1st, 2024

Rising 8th-11th graders who have not previously volunteered with HCA

HCA will be collaborating with Metrowest YMCA to provide a work-readiness camp for select CITs following an interview process. This will involve students registering for a training program either the week of June 24-28, or July 1-5 (with the exception of July 4th) before they can volunteer as a CIT for HCA. (HCA may be able to provide partial funding if the student demonstrates financial need). The training provided will be a resume booster and prepare students for transferable skills as they enter the workforce or continue to volunteer with organizations. More information will be discussed during the interview process.  Upon completing the training, students will be required to give HCA 2-4 weeks of volunteer services. In the event that a student applicant is unavailable to attend either of those weeks of training but have at least one year of experience working with kids, they should still apply.

Returning HCA Volunteers (rising 9th-12th graders, and college students)

Students who have previously volunteered as a classroom assistant or summer CIT at HCA will need to complete an interview and, if selected, attend mandatory one-day training at HCA that will be provided in June at no cost.
