Egg tempera is a traditional painting process that uses egg yolk to bind pigments. Seen in the 4th Century Byzantine and Greek icons. It was the main painting medium until the invention of oil painting in approximately 14th Century.
In this workshop you learn to make your own paint through the process of mixing finely ground pigment and a water egg yolk mixture.

Sandra Tobias is a Melbourne based artist taking up an art residence at CCCD Hong Kong.
Tobias is a Naarm (Melbourne, Australia) based professional practicing artist and Arts Educator.
Her practice reflects narratives related to time, people, and the places they inhabit.
Often incorporating a community context, Tobias’ work reads as a colourful, intimate diary of events and time, reflecting a humanistic perception.
