INPUT: Use of Outdoor Space Downtown
As businesses adapt to the newest phase of COVID-19 restrictions through winter months, we anticipate continuing utilization of outdoor public space (sidewalks and street space) for expanded seating and outdoor dining through winter months, in an effort to accommodate social distancing and health and safety guidelines.

In Downtown Santa Cruz, the City has temporarily expanded the parklet program and made partial or full street closures on an "emergency," short-term, block by block basis. All seating and display decisions were made according to the specific business needs and concerns expressed by businesses on EACH BLOCK, in addition to mandated accessibility, fire, safety, and emergency vehicle requirements.

We want to hear from you again! We hope this input from you, our Downtown businesses, will provide updated guidance for decisions the City of Santa Cruz continues to make to best support a revitalized Downtown.
