XPL Omaha and XPL HQ will be hosting an open Rocket League Rumble 3s tournament - Summer Smash.
The dates of the tournament are 25 and 26 August. Detailed times below.
FORMAT
Teams of 3
Group stage will consist of 4 groups. Teams will be divided randomly between the four groups. Each team will play 3 matches in the group stage. The top two teams from each group will move into a single elimination bracket.
Tie breakers in the group stage will be in this order: head-to-head matchups then point differential across all matches.
All matches up to elimination bracket final will be best of 5. Final match will be a best of 7.
Game mode will be set to Rumble, field set to DFH Stadium, series length set to 5 (7 for finals). No other mutators.
Group play will start at 7pm EST on Friday, 25 August.
Group play (any unfinished matches) and elimination rounds will begin on Saturday, 26 August at 1pm EST and continue until complete.
Expectation is completing all 3 group play matches on Friday, 25 August.
Elimination rounds will start at approximately 1pm on Saturday, 26 August.
COORDINATION
XPL HQ will generate required brackets to support tournament.
XPL HQ will create chat and voice channels in the coaches discord for Summer Smash events.
XPL Omaha will coordinate execution of the group and elimination rounds.
All participating locations are required to show up on time for matches and report scores accordingly and timely.
XPL HQ will coordinate streaming matches as available.
XPL Omaha will also plan to stream out select matches.
REGISTRATION
XPL Locations can register teams up to midnight EST, Wednesday, 23 August.
Registered players must meet XPL age requirements.
Registered players can be current XPL players, future XPL players, friends, siblings, etc.
Coaches cannot register as players regardless of age (this is for the players and potential players)
PRIZING

XPL Rule Sets and Codes of Conduct will apply to every player/team. Violations should be reported to host and could lead to removal of the player/team from the event.
