Empowered PBL is based on the book “Empower” by John Spencer and A.J.Juliani.  The workshop is designed to help teachers develop learning experiences that will be meaningful, relevant to the lives of their students, and based on 21st century skills and ISTE Standards.   Teachers will be working on embedding their own standards and curriculum paths into highly engaging lessons with an emphasis on PBL.   Throughout the training attendees will also be exposed to the Buck Institute for Education's model of Gold Standard PBL. Learners will move through the pedagogy and practice, gain exposure to a wide variety of resources and technology, interact with other participants, and introduce their own PBL lesson for peer feedback.  During the two days participants will be working as a whole class, individually, and in small groups in an effort to model PBL options and best practices and attempt to provide all who attend with an engaging learning experience.
