The Engineering and Science Success Academy (ESSA) is a free, 4-week long, summer residential bridge program, designed to provide incoming freshmen with academic preparation, in the areas of math and science, as well as, familiarization with campus resources, and success strategies for first-year students. This program is being offered to incoming Michigan State University freshmen, majoring in engineering, who meet all applicant eligibility criteria.
Students who elect to participate in ESSA will be expected to adhere to the following guidelines and expectations:

Participants must successfully complete the summer bridge program experience, in order to remain eligible for program incentives.
• Attend all classes and other scheduled events during the program.
• Seek assistance from instructors and teaching assistants.
• Show respect for instructors, facilitators, teaching assistants, and fellow participants.
• Put forth every effort to reflect your best work.
• Inappropriate, threatening, offensive comments and/or actions will not be tolerated.
• Harassment is a violation of the University Anti-Discrimination Policy and will not be tolerated.
• Participants’ behavior in ESSA shall be conducive to the teaching and learning process for all concerned.
• The ESSA participants, instructors, teaching assistants, and staff share the responsibility for maintaining professional relationships based on mutual trust and civility.
