Application to JFT's 2021-2022 Teacher Leaders Program
Thank you for your interest in TLP.  We are looking forward to reviewing your application.  We will be reviewing applications on an ongoing basis, so please submit as soon as possible.  The secondary application deadline is Monday, June 28.

Program Details:
TLP will help you learn more about our union, our schools & current issues in education.  You will also study action research & complete your own research project.  All JFT members - paras, ed diagnosticians, social workers, etc - are invited to apply.  To receive more info or if you have questions, email Rosamund Looney: tlp.rosamund.looney@gmail.com.

- Prior research experience is not required!
- A modest stipend is provided to those who complete the program.
- This cadre will meet in a hybrid fashion, with both remote meetings via Zoom and in person meetings at the JFT office.  Meeting time commitment: about 6 - 8 hours / month from Sept. - April.
- We will determine our meeting schedule based on AFT's guidance and our cohort's availability.  Right now we are considering meeting options such as: in person every other Saturday morning from 9 - 12:30 and in person/virtual every other weekday evening (for ex: every other Thursday from 5 - 8:30 PM).  There is a section in the application for you to indicate your availability and preferences.

Application Details:
Please read through the application in its entirety before you begin your application.  Google Forms does not save your progress as you work, so we recommend writing your essay in Word first, and then cutting and pasting it into this Google Form.  Please also obtain confirmation from your references before clicking submit.

Additionally, we recommend completing the form via computer rather than mobile phone.  If you have technical issues, please email: tlp.rosamund.looney@gmail.com.

Applicants who are selected to move forward will be invited for a virtual interview in late June/July.  The application committee will be in touch with you as soon as possible regarding the status of your application.  We expect to announce the full cohort by mid/late August.

Due to the pandemic and based on feedback from last year's cohort, this program will most likely be hybrid; we will have some meetings in person at the JFT office and some meetings virtually over Zoom.  We will create a virtual meeting schedule that works for those accepted into the program.  Which type of schedule would you prefer?  You may check all options that work for you.  In order to be a good candidate for the program, you should have availability either on some weekday evenings or on Saturday mornings. *
