You Press is a grassroots social enterprise based in London. Our mission is to empower young people from underrepresented communities to find their voices and contribute to sustainable community development.

The Collective Music Programme (Accredited Artist Development Programme) is one of our most successful and consistent programmes for the past two years. We normally deliver our music programme for 12 months and train 30 young musicians, but this time we are applying for funding to deliver our music programme for 24 months to train 60 young musicians aged 13-25 years old. Artists will be vocalists, singers, producers and MCs from some of London's most deprived communities.

The 60 young people will be split into 3 cohorts of 20 young musicians per 6-8 months. The training sessions will take place online (via digital workshops / webinars) and offline at Paddington Arts on every week from 6.30pm to 9.30pm and some weekends (subject to government guidelines on social distancing).

The young musicians that we will train and support face social, cultural, financial and mental health barriers in their lives that limits their development and social mobility. Also, due to the challenges brought by COVID-19, they have faced barriers in accessing music-making opportunities that caters to their interests and needs.

This short consultation survey is designed to help us to assess the demand for The Collective Music Programme to be delivered for a third time. To also help us with the funding application.
