Summer Academic Primer and Consolidation Program Sign-Up
KBS will offer a two-week academic consolidation program in both Mathematics and Language during the final two weeks in July, and a two-week academic primer program in both Mathematics and Language during the second and third week of August. These offerings will be done remotely and open to students who just completed grade 3 through grade 8.

Language Consolidation Program
The consolidation program will instruct and provide critical thinking methods supporting the writing process. Through this 5 day program spread over two weeks, students will identify various writing styles and then choose a genre they would like to further develop. Throughout the program, students will take knowledge that they already have and from lessons taught ito write, edit & revise, and then publish a finished piece of writing.

Language Primer Program
The primer program will look at a snapshot of what your child’s year to come will be like. Throughout the five day program spread over two weeks, the students will learn what the expectations are in their next year, as well as take those new expectations and show their understanding through writing exercises, which will produce a final piece of writing demonstrating their learning through the program. By the end of this primer program, the students will have a base of knowledge to be successful in the year to come.

Mathematics Consolidation Program
The consolidation program will instruct and provide critical thinking methods supporting the problem solving process. This will begin with an understanding of operations language and move to problem solving methods appropriate for the grade. Attention will be paid to Number Sense Routine, Problem-Solving questions aligned with a topic and includes solving strategies taught and applied, and time allowing extra algebra or coding practice.

Mathematics Primer Program
The primer program will be structured as the consolidation program and instruct and provide critical thinking methods supporting the problem solving process at the next successive grade level for the student.
