ATRA - Advancing Tourism Research in Africa - identifies areas of research interest to aggregate what is known about tourism in Africa so far and where the gaps exist so as to create a tourism research agenda for Africa.

We hope to build a strong network for tourism research in Africa and influence decision-making that can guide policymakers and practitioners in their tourism development activities.  

ATRA will understand the current research environment for the tourism industry on the continent, identify focus themes and areas with research gaps, and strengthen the connection between research and practice to inform development, investment and policy decisions for the tourism industry.
