Each student will be enrolled in 4 arts classes (out of their top 8 choices) that they will attend for the entire session.
Here is a description of each class.
Visual Arts- Fantastical Beasts - If you love unicorns, dragons, and other imaginary creatures, then this is the class for you! We will explore different techniques and materials, including papier mache, printmaking, clay, and drawing as we create cool fantasy beast projects.
- Yarn, String, Fabric, and More - Make charming stuffed animals, cool pillows, wearable fabric art, and other projects.
- Glass Arts* - This intro class will give students the knowledge and means to make mosaics, cast glass, and fused glass artworks. (An extra $30 fee for materials will be due the first day of class.) *Open to ages 12+ only.
- Textile Arts and Sewing - Make your own Teddy Bear. No previous sewing skills required.
Dance
- Spotlight on Dance - Improve your skills and stamina in this choreography-based class. Stretching and warm-ups will start each session and then working on routines designed to perform at the Art Intensive Showcase at the end of the 2-weeks.
- Modern Dance - The unique music and movement of modern dance are explored in this fun dance offering.
Theatre
- Improve Your Improv - Hey, theatre kids! Come have a blast honing your improvisational skills to improve your acting chops.
- Singing Broadway - Popular Broadway tunes and simple choreography will be the focus of this fun art intensive.
Music
- Modern R&B/Pop Ensemble - Do you play an instrument? Do you sing? Join the class and learn to enhance one another's musical abilities and effectively work together in an ensemble environment. You will work in TSA's Appold Recording Studio.
- Ukulele for Beginners and Beyond** - All you need is a ukulele and the desire to learn how to play. We'll supply the book and the instructor. Don't have a ukulele? No problem - for just $40, you can buy a new ukulele for your very own. **If purchasing a ukulele, the $40 will be needed at the start of camp.
Additional Class Offerings
- Improve Your Math Basics - Many students struggle with the basics in math class: the times table, measuring, long division, and so on. But every student can learn with a little practice and a whole lot of fun encouragement! Take this class and enter your next grade level at the top of your math game!
- Study and Organizational Skills Building - Does this sound familiar? You forgot your iPad (pencil, instrument, dance form, etc.). You have a great idea for the project but don't know how to get started. You knew the material yesterday, but can't remember it today for the quiz. Want to gain some insight into how to use tricks and tools to help you get your belongings and thoughts organized? Then this fun class is for you!
