Production Manager

Ginger’s Revenge is a craft brewery in Asheville, NC, specializing in the production of alcoholic ginger beer. Now in our fifth year of operations, we are on track to produce 2,000 barrels in 2021 and expect that number to increase steadily over the next several years.

We are looking for a growth-minded individual to lead our production team. In particular we are looking for someone with leadership experience, excellent work ethic, strong problem-solving skills, and a positive attitude. This is a full-time, salaried position that will work directly with our CEO and Co-Founder.

Key duties and responsibilities include supervising the following production activities:

- Brewing on a 15 bbl system
- Managing fermentation
- Filtration (lenticular filter experience a plus!)
- Managing carbonation levels
- Packaging (kegging and bottling)
- Troubleshooting any issues in fermentation, equipment, filtration, or processes
- Supply chain procurement and inventory management
- Logging production steps in physical and digital records (Ekos experience a plus!)
- Developing and refining Standard Operating Procedures and safety standards
- Facilitating clear communication among production team members
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Operating equipment in a safe manner

Additional operational duties include:

- Create weekly production schedules
- Create weekly staffing schedules that accomplish all objectives and maintain a good work/life balance for production staff
- Manage schedule changes and oversee all communication with the departments that the changes might affect
- Create daily task lists for production staff
- Ensure all scheduled activities are completed
- Manage raw material ordering and inventory management
- Work to streamline our planning processes and participate in our continuous improvement culture
- Work to discover new ways of optimizing production activities
- Scaling production and identifying opportunities for improved efficiency
- Working to improve quality control and assurance program

Required skills and experience:

- College degree
- Minimum five years professional beverage production experience
- Minimum three years experience leading and coaching others
- Strong mechanical and electrical abilities and operational understanding of all brewery processes
- High level of attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Bottling experience
- Filtration experience
- Strong math skills
- Strong computer skills

Preferred skills and experience:

- 2 or 4 year brewing/fermentation degree
- Experience with brewery management software such as Ekos
 
Physical requirements:

- Ability to stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours)
- Ability to lift heavy objects (lifting up to 55 pounds, safely maneuvering up to 165 pounds)
- Ability to work in hot and cold environments

Full-time positions are eligible for benefits (paid-time off, paid holidays, wellness stipend, and direct-primary-care membership) after three months employment.
