On Saturday, January 25 from 10am-12pm, all OSLC parents are invited to join the pastors for a brunch conversation about sex and faith.  Childcare will be provided.

We will be making use of a new book by Kate Ott, entitled Sex + Faith: Talking with Your Child from Birth to Adolescence. Please purchase this book for yourself and read it ahead of our gathering in January. It's a pretty quick and empowering read. If you need financial assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to one of the pastors and we will buy a copy for you. 

This book is based on the premise that parents are children's primary sexuality educators. Even if we don't talk to our kids about sex, we are conveying messages through our silence and through our behaviors to our children. Kate Ott discusses common myths that parents have about sexuality education, the parent's role, how our faith connects to sexuality, steps for answering children's questions, and more. The second part of the book is divided into ages and stages and provides age-appropriate developmental information for parents (there's a chapter on Birth to Kindergarten, Elementary school years, Middle school years, and High school years).
