Please share books that you think should be considered for the APICBA. Students will have the opportunity to read a shortlist of the nominees in the spring of 2022.

Selection Criteria:
-Titles nominated should be a picture book appropriate for grades K-3.
-Fiction and nonfiction titles published in the past 5 years are eligible.
-Nominated titles must be currently in print.
-All nominated books must have literary value and child appeal.
-All books must be written by an API author.
-All books must feature an API character, or subject in the case of a biography, and highlight API culture and identity.
-Nominated books may be multilingual.

Selection Procedure
-When do we accept nominations? (May through August 2021)
-When do we evaluate? (May through October 2021)
-When do we finalize and publicize the nominees? (November 2021)
-When are votes collected? (April 2022)
-When is the winner announced? (May 2022)
