2023 Chicago Blast Volunteer Sign-Up

We are seeking volunteers to help with our Chicago Blast Karate Invitational. Please complete this form to let us know how you might want to volunteer.

Volunteers will have their spectator fee waived ($10). If you're arriving at 8 AM to watch your child compete, but not volunteering until 1 PM -- no worries! We'll have your name on a list at the door, so we know not to charge you.

A volunteers meeting will be held jointly by Enso and Adamson's Karate Studios on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 7:30pm CT / 8:30PM ET. Volunteers can join in-person or join remotely (link to join TBA).

What activities can you help with on the day before the tournament?

Greeting, check-in, collecting spectator fees

Staging (helping competitors get grouped and out to their rings)

Ring master (placing athletes in order and calling them up to the ring when it's their turn to compete)

Ring assistant (sitting at table to keep score, keep time, and assist the ring master as needed)

Judging (adult and teen black belts only)

Medic/First-Aid

Photography

Awarding of medals (helping at the awards podium)

Announcing (announcing winners, calling competitors to staging)

Assisting with coffee, water, and lunch for judges and volunteers (setting up table, receiving delivery, etc.)

Bring two bags of ice in a cooler in the morning

Packing up trailer and transporting equipment

Clean-up, approximately 4-7pm
