Playing It Safe Bike Rodeo Volunteer Sign-Up
C-U Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Project needs volunteers to help with our bike rodeo during Bike Month in May.

Time: Saturday, May 18th, 8:30am - 1pm
Location: Leonhard Center, 2307 Sangamon Dr, Champaign, IL

A Bike rodeo is an opportunity for parents and children to learn about and practice some basic bicycling skills. Volunteers will help kids navigate a short bicycle skills training course and learn about the importance of wearing a helmet and bicycle safety.
The entire bike rodeo on May 20th will include:
- 8:30am-9:30am Set-up
Volunteers will help set up the bike rodeo layout and skill stations, prepare supplies, distribute skill checklist cards.
- 9:30am-12:30pm Bike Rodeo
Help and guide children in bicycle activities such as starting and stopping, turning and yielding, scanning and signaling.
- 12:30pm-1pm Break down
Reload helmets and station materials, clean up the site.
You can sign up for the whole activity or any time slot during the bike rodeo. We appreciate your help in promoting safe bicycling for our children and our community.
