Parent Survey for Opening Schools in Fall 2020
Attention MPCSD Parents/Guardians:

Please assist MPCSD Leadership in understanding your current perspectives as we begin to develop plans for opening our schools in the Fall of 2020. While it is entirely too early to know how the health conditions in our area may change over the course of the next few months, MPCSD will spend the next two months developing  plans for different scenarios. The questions listed below should not be taken as any specific indication of our intent; they simply provide us with data to inform our process. Some of our decisions will be made for us by health officials and state guidelines. Decisions that can be made by MPCSD staff and School Board will be thoughtful and well communicated in advance. Your patience is appreciated. Your completion of this survey will be invaluable to us; thank you for taking just a couple of minutes to complete and submit no later than Wednesday, May 13 at 4:00 p.m.

If your youngest child is in 8th grade and/or you do not plan on returning to MPCSD in the fall, you do NOT need to complete this survey.

Which MPCSD schools will your children attend next school year, 2020-21? (Check all that apply to your family.)
In which grades WILL you have children attending MPCSD schools next school year, 2020-21? (Check all that apply to your family.)
If local health orders allow MPCSD schools to open on August 20 but with social distancing requirements and you were given the choice of Online Distance Learning or Socially-Distanced In-Person Learning, which would you likely choose? *
What is likely to be your child care solution should MPCSD be required to implement a social distancing schedule that doesn't cover the entire regular school day or each day of the week?
Clear selection
Based on the information you have now, how comfortable do you think you will be sending your child back to school if the health orders allow it and the District takes recommended protective measures (e.g. face masks, no large groups, etc.)
Clear selection
How supportive would you be of a plan that prioritized in-person teaching for younger students (K-2) and a incremental increase per grade level of more distance learning time for older students who are developmentally more inclined to self-directed learning?
Clear selection
Based on the most recent health orders from the county, MPCSD is able to provide in-person Summer School for our students who are most in need of support in classes that are 12 or smaller with face masks. If your child would qualify, how likely are you to send your child to in-person Summer School?
Clear selection
Were MPCSD to provide access to online instructional programs in reading, writing, and or math over the summer to prevent "summer slide" or address learning gaps possibly created by Sheltering in Place, how likely would you be to require your child to regularly access those online programs during the summer (e.g. Lexia, Dreambox, Razz Kids A-Z, etc.)?
Clear selection
It is likely that students will be required to wear face covering upon return. How prepared do you feel your youngest child will be for having to wear approved face covering in order to attend school on August 20? (If you answer anything less than "Prepared," please start encouraging the use of face covering for practice.)
Clear selection
It is certain that students will be required to wash their hands often to prevent virus spread. How prepared do you feel your child(ren) is to regularly and properly wash their hands independently with reminders once school begins on August 20? (If you answer anything less than "Prepared," please start regularly practicing effective hand washing practices and independence.)
Clear selection

Please provide a list of no more than three questions that you hope MPCSD leadership will answer or address prior to school opening in the the fall.
