The Writing Center offers presentations during which one of our writing consultants will come to your class, student organization, or department meeting to share with you and your students, members, or faculty and staff a variety of information about what we offer and how you can make use of our services.
We can offer
in-person and virtual presentations Monday through Thursday from 9am to 4pm and Friday 9am to 1pm, starting on January 29, 2024.
A standard presentation covers information on why the Writing Center is helpful for all writers, what types of consultations we offer, how to schedule appointments and submit to the OWL, and what other writing-related resources we have available. These presentations usually last 15-20 minutes.
We can sometimes include additional information in a presentation, such as guidance on APA citations or tips for revising your writing. If there is a particular topic you would like covered, please note those details in this form.
When making your request, please give us at least two weeks' notice for a standard presentation and three weeks' notice if you would like additional topics covered. Please provide as
much information and detail as possible.
If you would like presentations in more than one class
or meeting, please complete separate forms for each.
A representative from the
Writing Center will send you an email confirmation and a reminder one week before the confirmed event. Please let us know if your plans change, including if the class/meeting is canceled and if the classroom/meeting room/virtual meeting link has changed.
We cannot guarantee that a consultant will be available for your requested time. We will do our best to offer alternatives if we cannot fulfill your initial request.
We only accept presentation requests for the current semester.
