Outstanding Teaching Award Nomination
In 2002, the College of Fine and Applied Arts established the Outstanding Teaching Award. All full-time faculty members of the college who have been at Appalachian State University for at least two full years are eligible for nomination. Anyone presently or formerly associated with Appalachian State University - any student, faculty, or staff member - may make nominations. No student may nominate a teacher with whom the student is taking a class at the time of nomination.
We invite you to submit a nomination by completing this form. In documenting your recommendation(s), please provide examples on any or all of the items displayed by the faculty below:
1. Ability to impart knowledge, inquisitiveness, the desire for continued learning, and uses of innovative practices
2. Competence and command of the subject matter
3. Concern for students’ intellectual growth
4. Enthusiasm for the subject matter
5. Concern for students’ personal development
6. Contribution towards inclusion and diversity in the classroom
7. Any other information you deem relevant to show nominee’s outstanding teaching
