For over 55 years, the Creative Arts Community has offered residential arts workshops at the Menucha Retreat Center in the Columbia Gorge. These week-long classes take place during the first two weeks of August. We are searching for artists/writers/musicians who love to teach and enjoy the idea of an immersive experience working with small classes of adult students in a spectacularly beautiful setting. The Arts at Menucha experience includes meals and lodging, evening presentations, and recreational opportunities. The campus includes a swimming pool, walking trails, labyrinth, & outdoor fire pit.
We also create a Pop-Up Gallery on site where you can sell your work. We pay a stipend of $1500 and also provide your room and all meals. Class time is 9 am to 12 noon and 1:30 to 4:30 pm. Teachers also give a presentation of their work one evening.
We would love to consider your proposal for a week-long workshop (5 days, six hours of teaching each day) in visual art, writing, music or other arts related topics. We have offered courses in drawing & painting in all media, book arts, mosaic, sculpture & assemblage, fiber arts, ceramics, collage and mixed media, the graphic novel, art metals/jewelry, ukulele & guitar and creative writing. We welcome your ideas.
Application deadline to teach workshops in 2025 is October 1, 2024.
