We are excited to share that a long-awaited development in the world of New Student Orientation begins this year!

Beginning with the Fall 2021 cohort of new undergraduate Bengals, the advising and registration of first-year students for their Fall 2021 courses will be conducted during our traditional New Student Orientation program. Therefore, first-year attendance at New Student Orientation will be mandatory. (Transfer students will continue to be advised through individual appointments and will therefore not be required to attend New Student Orientation. However, they are welcome to attend any session of their choice).

First-year students will attend NSO on the campus where they are taking fall courses. In Pocatello and Idaho Falls, students will select from multiple dates, and will choose the date that best fits their schedule. Online students will be instructed to attend the session closest to their home or to make special arrangements with the New Student Orientation office as needed.

VOLUNTEER NEEDS:

We are seeking ISU staff, faculty, student leader, and alumni volunteers to support these new efforts by acting as greeters, floaters, meal hosts, etc. If you are interested in helping at any of these sessions, please use the form below to select the dates and times for which you are available (generally speaking). We will then communicate with you directly for exact times and volunteer placement for that specific date. Please note that these sessions are being held in-person with the approval of the ISU Health Committee, with appropriate precautions being taken such as physical distancing, face coverings, and sanitation.
