Machismo & Marianismo and its Effects
 Hello, and thank you for taking a look at this survey. This is one of the ways I decided to research for my capstone project, and I think it could be really great. Machismo, and its counterpart marianismo, have affected a lot of lives in the course of hundreds of years, and the people affected by it deserve a voice. I would like to assure you that this is completely anonymous, unless you decide to make me aware of your identity. Some questions will be invasive, because this topic is invasive.  This quiz will not collect your email and only I will read any of the responses, this is a completely safe space. Ma-chis-mo ; noun
A strong or aggressive masculine pride. Some examples being trying to control loved ones like wives or children, refusing to accept help to the point of lashing out, and aggressively imposing ones own beliefs on others. Machismo is about dominance and not only putting ones self above women, but anyone that they feel feel they are better than.
Ma-ri-a-nis-mo ; noun
Much like machismo, it is the perpetuating of rigid gender roles. This is the feminine version of it. As opposed to machismo, marianismo is about submissiveness, self sacrifice, and inner strength instead of outer.

When I ask what global effects you can see, I dont mean something that applies to every household (although if you think of something, go ahead) . For example, domestic abuse rates can be connected to machismo & marianismo.
