2024 LHS Marching Raiders: Leadership Auditions Form
Hello everyone,

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for the position(s) of Drum Major and/or Section Leader. Please confirm your intent to participate by (1) completing this form and (2) submitting ALL audition materials via an email addressed to me before the end of the day on FRIDAY, APRIL 19TH.

-Marching via a video submission
-Commands via a video/audio submission
-Conducting via a video submission (PROSPECTIVE DRUM MAJORS ONLY)
-Interview via a written submission

Please rehearse, record (video ONLY), and submit your marching audition via an email addressed to Mr. Martin, which must be completed in one consecutive take and consist of the following: (1) standby, (2) attention, (3) horns up, (4) 8-count mark time, (5) 8-count forward march, (6) 8-count left slide, (7) 8-count backwards march, (8) 8-count right slide, (9) 8-count forward march, (10) 8-count right slide, (11) 8-count backwards march, (12) 8-count left slide, (13) halt, (14) horns down, and (15) standby. COMMANDS AUDITION
Please rehearse, record (video/audio), and submit your commands audition via an email addressed to Mr. Martin, which must be completed in one consecutive take and consist of the following: (1) attention ("BAND-A-TEN-HUT"), (2) horns up ("BAND-HORNS-UP), (3) mark time ("MARK-TIME-HUT"), (4) forward march ("FOOT-WARD-MARCH"), (5) left slide ("LEFT-SLIDE-HUT"), (6) backwards march ("BACK-STEP-HUT"), (7) right slide ("RIGHT-SLIDE-HUT"), (8) halt ("BAND-HALT"), and (9) horns down ("BAND-HORNS-DOWN). I understand and agree to the following as a prospective leader of the LHS Marching Raiders: (1) I must attend all rehearsals and performances; (2) I will NOT speak negatively to or about current or former sections; (3) I will NOT speak negatively to or about Mr. Martin, instructional staff, or other prospective leaders; (4) I will NOT engage in any unnecessary arguments or disagreements, and if in the event that someone or something hurts my feelings, then I will address my concerns privately with either the individual, Mr. Martin, or other Marching Band staff member; (5) I will refrain from using social media, including Snapchat, as an outlet through which to express my concerns and/or frustrations regarding Marching Band and its members; (6) I will refrain from talking and using my cell phone during all rehearsals and performances unless otherwise permitted to do so; (7) I will NOT engage in behaviors and/or activities that the SMCPS Student Handbook deems inappropriate, criminal, and/or dangerous; (8) I will lead by example; and (9) I assume responsibility for my actions.
