2024 Illinois Retired Teachers Association Foundation Excellence in Education Grants for Teachers Program Application
The Illinois Retired Teachers Association Foundation (IRTAF) is making $42,000 in grant money available statewide.  This special grant will provide additional funds to Illinois public school educators (Pre-K through 12) so that their students will have the means to participate in special projects.  

Please submit your application to the Illinois Retired Teachers Association Foundation by clicking the submit button found at the end of this document.  Applications must be submitted by June 1, 2024.  Grant recipients will be chosen in the summer, and awards will be presented in the fall.  When you submit your proposal, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions outlined in this document.

Grants will not be awarded for field trips, consumables, or awards/rewards.  Grants will be awarded for enduring projects that help impact students year after year.

I further understand that, in the event I am awarded a grant for the project, the Foundation shall have the right to disseminate a description of my project and its concepts and ideas and/or photographs of my students participating in the project.  The school will be responsible for getting releases from students and their parents for use of student names and/or photographs in Foundation promotional materials. *

The Illinois Retired Teachers Association Foundation is a not for profit association affiliated with the Illinois Retired Teachers Association (IRTA).  This is the 19th year the Foundation has awarded grants to public school teachers in Illinois.  In addition to providing these grants, the Foundation provides scholarships to aspiring Illinois educators and financial assistance to retired Illinois educators who are experiencing acute financial stress.
