MATTAPAN TECH'S HANDS-ON SUMMER APPRENTICE PROGRAM

Welcome to our apprenticeship program! To begin your journey, kindly complete the initial application, the first step in our hiring process. Following its submission, successful applicants will receive a second application, which entails uploading a picture ID, providing proof of residence, and sharing their social security number. Acceptable picture IDs include a US or foreign government passport, Mass ID or License, and a School ID if you are under 18. Please note that we do not accept school report cards, letters, or personal pictures.

As an apprentice, participants aged 14-18 will embark on a dynamic learning experience encompassing computer and network hardware, system design, operating systems, cloud computing, and cybersecurity. Our program is hands-on, fostering a practical understanding of these essential skills. The program will also introduce children to the commonly used office application: Spreadsheet, database , documents and presentation. For participants aged 18 to 22, opportunities extend to working as IT support staff for external institutions, providing valuable real-world experience. The program further exposes participants to diverse fields, including medical and government sectors.

You understand that (If accepted) you will have to make a commitment to work at least 20 hours per week during Summer and 10 hours every week during the school year if you also apply for school year.   If for any reason, we ask you to work remotely, you must keep your camera on during all remote sessions. If  Covid-19 infection rates rise again dramatically, the program can be switched to remote classes. However you would still get paid at the same rate. *
