2023- 2024 Tampa Bay Krewe Women’s Rugby Club Player Packet

On behalf of the Executive Board, we would like to welcome you to the 2023-2024 season of Tampa Bay Krewe Women’s Rugby, for our 7th year as a competitive club!

Last season, we built momentum with our strongest finish in the history of Krewe women's rugby. Accolades include winning the Florida State 15s Championship for the second year in a row; advancing to the top 8 teams in the USA Rugby Division II Club National Tournament for the second year in a row; and ranking #5 among all DII Clubs in the nation. In 2023 we also fielded our first competitive 7s side - winning the Surfin' 7s tournament and placing 2nd at Gulf Coast 7s.

Those successes on the field can be attributed to many things. Player membership was at an all time high for the 22-23 season, with 39 players registered, averaging 25 players in attendance at all practices! Fundraising and sponsorship efforts exceeded $10,000 to support club expenses such as new uniforms, equipment, and travel for competition. We also sought to give back to the development of rugby in the community by hosting our first ever All Ages Clinic and implementing the "Higher Level Opportunity Scholarship." It's true, the 2022-2023 season was our most successful year yet.

Moving into 2023-2024, we hope to build upon the foundation we have laid for the success of this club over the last 6 years - and that starts with you! You showing up to practice. You volunteering for events. You fundraising and honoring our sponsorships. You putting on that black and red jersey. You believing in the purpose of this club. You being Krewe! With your commitment and dedication to the club and the club's goals, we can make anything happen.

Looking forward to choosing violence together soon :)

Yours in rugby,

Kelsey Cashem, Club President
