Reopening thoughts and needs

We are currently planning for school to reopen on August 12. However, what that will actually look like is still being discussed and planned. A lot will depend on what health and safety precautions will be required of public schools by the Shasta Public Health Department. But Winston Churchill said, "He who fails to plan, is planning to fail." So please give us your input so that we can plan for reopening with your needs, concerns, and desires in mind.

Overall, assuming the levels of community transmission in our area remain manageable BUT a vaccine is not yet available, which of these 3 options would you prefer for your family?

On-site classroom program to the greatest extent possible allowed by our local health department

At-home distance learning taught by your child's regular classroom teacher so they can keep pace with their classmates in the classroom and be ready to jump in whenever that is right for our family

Our amazing homeschool program taught by Ms. Sara and Ms. Holly! Note that families who choose this option would give up their spot in the classroom to the next child on the waitlist and would have to re-enter the lottery to join to our classroom program

School is open but social distancing is required and classroom capacity is cut to 50%. Students attend in shifts and each grade is kept in its own "bubble"(see next question).

School is CLOSED but I'd like to send my student(s) to on-site supervision provided in groups of 10 or less by paraprofessionals for essential workers and families that qualify for free or reduced lunch.

We'd prefer 100% distance learning/homeschool rather than any of these choices.
