How? OzTerps workshops are collaborative –all participants prepare and present short speeches, practise consecutive and simultaneous interpreting, and provide peer-feedback. There is a special focus on working languages in the Asia-Pacific, and retour and relay practice, to account for the needs in our region.
In order to ensure a successful workshop for all involved, participants must commit to attending the full week. Networking and social activities such as dinners and outings are also organised.
As OzTerps is designed to be a peer-led professional development opportunity, participants in OzTerps sessions will only be asked to pay a solidarity fee to cover administration and coordination costs. Participants are responsible for their own accommodation, food and transport.
Who?
Anyone who has completed studies in conference interpreting or who has experience working in conference-like settings.
We're accepting registrations from conference interpreters in Arabic, French, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese and Spanish. Other languages may be considered, depending on demand.
