Invite our Clean City Clara or Talking Trash Program to your school today!

Clara, our litter prevention pelican mascot, and her friend teach children grades CD/4K to 5th how they can live litter-free lives and practice proper waste responsibility. Our Talking Trash Program is geared toward grades 5th to 8th grade and introduces prevention-focused thinking and constructive actions students can take to create a cleaner, more beautiful Charleston!

Please be sure to make us aware of any guidelines that need to be followed at your specific school.

These programs are restricted to Charleston County Schools within the City of Charleston. We encourage you to still fill out the form if you are interested, as we may make exceptions or can share resources with you.

Once the form is submitted, we will follow up with you to plan a visit to your school!

Each program typically lasts 45 minutes to 1 hour. Please specify your TOP CHOICE of date and time for the program. *

For Clean City Clara presentations ONLY - A staff member is requested to wear the Clara costume for the presentation. Please use this space to identify your volunteer or request that arrangements be made on our end.

Is there technology available to give a PowerPoint presentation?

The presenter will always bring a laptop & flash drive containing the PowerPoint.

If your school practices recycling and/composting, we encourage you to request the basic knowledge to be included at the end of the presentation to provide students an additionally opportunity to learn/review the information. *

We do not recycle or compost. This part can be excluded.

We recycle, but we don't compost. Recycling can be included in the presentation.

We only collect recyclables, but may compost in the future. Please include both topics.

We practice both recycling and composting! Including both topics would be great!
