Alternative Daily Assignment Reflection Form
Bringing the ADA room into the 21st century with Restorative Practices.
Restorative practices are a way to have students actually learn from their unacceptable choices. Restorative Practices is for all stakeholders involved, staff, students and parents, and in terms which everyone can understand, Restorative Practices is about Teaching and not about Punishing.
Riverside Brookfield High School’s ADA room will add several Restorative Practice activities, so that staff will have a better understanding of the students and the students will have a better understanding of themselves. As we move through the process, we want students to become responsible for their actions, this is not a fast process and may take some time for students to understand their behaviors and actions.
Restorative Practices activities for students as follows:
Check In Check Out
I’m in Control Think Sheet
Questions for Cooling Down
Reflective Journal Prompts
Students would be required to complete one Restorative Practice activity per period, (all answers must be complete answers with thought, no one word answers). If the students complete all four activities, they will be allowed to leave at 3:05 not 3:15.
