From the Centre for Islamic Archaeology at the Institute of
Arab and Islamic Studies of the University of Exeter we present a group of
seminars focusing on Gulf Studies:
19th January – Rémi Perrogon - From amphora to fishing weight: a dialogue between spaces and ceramic material in a monastic context (al-Qusur site, Failaka Island, Kuwait, 7th century - early 9th century).
14th February –Irini Biezeveld - Surveying ceramics and settlements: The Late Islamic landscape of central Oman.
20th March– Dr. Carmen Ting - The glaze is less opaque on the other side: Revisiting the role of the Levantine coast in the innovation and spread of glaze technologies in Islamic world.
