Description of Staff Week:

English is the medium some universities are introducing within existing academic conventions while preparing their national and international students for the professional and working world.

The ‘English for Academics: EMI, EAP & ESP’ Staff Week is designed to raise awareness of what is core to these three ‘E’s by first introducing the teachers/lecturers to basic intercultural principles which are then applied to workshop sessions on assessment, feedback and spoken delivery in a range of academic scenarios.

Three workshops will be organized in the form of input and practice sessions which allow the teachers/lecturers to start from key principles and move on to practicing in a safe environment.

Attendees are expected to have a minimum competence of B1/B2 in the English language.

Profile of expected participants: Teachers/lecturers are either planning to or have already started teaching their discipline through English.
