Mattoon High School is happy to announce we are again offering SAT preparation classes for interested juniors. The classes will provide direct instruction and test taking skills to prepare students for the 2023 SAT. This fall we are offering separate Math and English sessions, along with an extended winter session. Students who participate in the SAT preparation class will each receive the SAT Prep Plus 23 practice booklet with sample problems to work through and practice tests. All sessions will be taught by Mattoon High School math and English teachers.
The two fall sessions are intended for students to take a practice SAT, and then develop a plan to work on areas of need. Specific SAT question types will also be reviewed during these sessions.
The winter session will be a two-hour preparation class that will have one hour devoted to math instruction with specific lessons on calculator use and one hour devoted to reading instruction.
