Whether you're brand new to Washington or never been part of a PTA, welcome! We are just like you - busy parents who want the best school experience for our kids so we're volunteering our time and we hope you'll join us. Most of the volunteer opportunities below don't require any special knowledge or prior experience and most don't have to be year-round commitments. And of course, the more people that sign up, the easier it is on everyone to share the load!

Please select as many of the following volunteer opportunities that you might be open to helping out with.

Checking a box does NOT lock you into anything - it's more for the PTA to see what roles we still need to fill.

COMMUNICATIONS [LEAD or SUPPORT]: Helps to promote PTA events and related information through newsletter, flyers, website, etc.

FUNDRAISING [LEAD or SUPPORT]: Helps supports various fundraising efforts (e.g. Read-a-thon, Walk-a-thon, Washington Fund, etc.)

MEMBERSHIP [LEAD or SUPPORT]: Plans the annual membership campaign

EVENTS COORDINATOR: Helps plan one or multiple school-wide community-building events (e.g. Winter Fest, Multicultural Potluck, etc.)

EVENT SUPPORT: Help set up, serve food, or clean up at an event.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR: Helps recruit and coordinate volunteers for the PTA

MEMBER-AT-LARGE: "On call" volunteer to help fill any kind of specific roles (depending on your availability)

FRIDAY COFFEE HOUR HOST: Purchases (and get reimbursed) or makes a box/pot of coffee for Friday parent coffee hour

ROOM PARENT: Helps share information, requests, etc. from school/PTA/teacher to families in your class

KINDER TOUR TEAM: Supports Kindergarten tours of Washington for interested families and/or hosts Kinder playdates over the summer

TRAFFIC & SAFETY: Acts as link between PTA board and Traffic and Safety issues/volunteers

ANNUAL AUDITOR: Audits PTA's financial records (Jan/July)

DATA/ADMIN. SUPPORT: Helps with various school administrative projects - e.g. help create things like: our school directory, class-specific Google Groups, rolling drop-off sign ups slots, membership efforts, etc.

ON-CALL HELPER: "“I'll do pretty much anything as a one-off - just give me a call and if my schedule allows, I'll do it!”"
