World Diabetes Day (WDD) is celebrated every year on November 14 which falls on the birthday of Fredrick Banting who, along with Charles Best, was credited with the discovery of insulin in 1921. According to the NHMS 2019 1 in 5 adults suffer from diabetes in Malaysia. The theme for World Diabetes Day 2020 is The Nurse and Diabetes.

The global pandemic has taught us a lesson on how nurses are seen as unsung heroes. Malaysia on the other hand needs to strengthen health systems through a sustainable diabetes nursing workforce equipped to meet the needs of the diabetes population and the rising demands for diabetes care.

This free webinar contains a presentation on 'Demystifying Diabetes: Is Reversible Type 2 DM? 'and a session for debate. The resource person will be Ms. Wong Lai Kun, Lecturer, School of Nursing.

The webinar will be moderated by Ms. Drona Dewi, Alumna of AIMST University Biotechnology Batch 4, Founder & CEO of Drona Wellness.
