Fitness Buddies is a free program for SDSU students to get moving together. A Fitness Buddy Leader is not a personal trainer, but is a student who is able to provide motivation, accountability, and support to help another student reach their wellness goals. Gain service and leadership experience under the guidance of the Aztec Recreation team of fitness professionals.
Fitness Buddies Leaders will connect and get together with their assigned mentee(s) at least 2x/month and participate in active, healthy, and appropriate activities chosen by the leader and mentee(s). Fitness Buddies Leaders are expected to communicate and check-in with Aztec Recreation Fitness Staff on a monthly basis as well as provide a report on what activity/activities they participated in with their mentee(s).
Students that select into the program can participate together in Aztec Recreation's wide variety of facilities/programs and/or engage in physical/wellness activity. If agreed upon, activities like hiking or going to the beach are also appropriate. Participants will receive regular program updates, as well as informal conversation topics that could be discussed during activity. Any SDSU students with access to the ARC who are interested are welcome to participate.
By submitting this form, I give Aztec Recreation permission to share my contact information and the information in the form with my assigned mentee(s).
