Food, Fun and Reading
Join the UMaine Cooperative Extension’s Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) in this weekly, food-themed, virtual read-aloud group. This program is available for youth ages 4 to 9 who reside in Washington and Hancock Counties, Maine.

Starting Tuesday, May 4, 2021, and continuing weekly through June 8, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. join us over Zoom to learn about MyPlate and the five food groups. Each session will feature an interactive activity and a different Washington County library during the read-aloud portion.

Adult participation required with children.

Optional: Learn alongside your child by receiving parent/caregiver nutrition education materials via email.

Parent/Caregiver Nutrition Education Option -- Eating Your Way!
If you would like to participate in this option, you will receive access to Eating Your Way!, a 3 session, self-paced nutrition education series. Each session will include information on two or three nutrition & healthy lifestyle topics, a simple cooking demonstration, and resources for kids in the kitchen. You will receive a link to Session 1 with the Food, Fun, and Reading Zoom link. If you complete all 3 Sessions and the surveys associated with this option, you will receive a gift bag with cooking supplies and a cookbook.
