STEAM 2020-2021 CONTRACT
ATTENDANCE
Regular school attendance is essential for academic success. I understand that excessive unexcused absences may result in placement on probation followed by removal from STEAM if the behavior continues during the remainder of the school year. STEAM participation requires 80% attendance or better each school year.
ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS
As a STEAM student, I understand that I will be required to meet graduation and STEAM requirements for Franklin High School, complete a minimum of 25 hours of Service Learning/Community Service each year, and participate in STEAM activities. In addition, I understand that I must make progress toward being a STEAM completer by taking the appropriate courses each year. While the counselor and coordinator review student transcripts, it is the responsibility of the student and parent/guardian to ensure the student enrolls and successfully completes the required STEAM courses.
ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE
I understand that I must obtain 90% of the credits each academic year in courses required for graduation. STEAM courses not completed with a “D” or better must be repeated.
STANDARDS OF CONDUCT/BEHAVIOR
During school, as well as STEAM functions held off-site (including field trips), I will follow all rules/guidelines for appropriate standards of conduct/behavior as outlined in the Franklin High School student handbook. This includes adhering to the guidelines for campus courtesy, student dress/grooming, respect for teachers and others, etc. If, in the judgment of the STEAM faculty and coordinator, my conduct and/or behavior is unacceptable as a representative of the program, I will be removed from STEAM. In addition, I understand that my actions on campus which lead to multiple detentions, on-campus suspensions (OCS) and/or home suspensions may lead to dismissal from STEAM as evaluated by the STEAM staff.
Franklin High School welcomes those with disabilities to participate fully in the programs, services and activities offered to students, parents, guardians and members of the public. If you need a disability-related modification or accommodation, including auxiliary aids or services, to participate in any program, service or activity offered to you, please contact the school at least 48 hours before the scheduled event so that we may make every reasonable effort to accommodate you.
