Girls Leadership 2021 Application
Dear Potential Girlstories Leadership Theatre Troupe 2021 Member  

I am thrilled that you are interested in our Tampa Girlstories Leadership (GLT) Program. We love working with young girls to help them succeed in life and be the very best they can be.  

The primary objective of GLT is to use theatre arts to increase a sense of becoming and belonging in young girls, increase leadership skills and increase confidence in public speaking. Powerstories has been providing services to middle school girls beginning in 2003 and in 2010, we received the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award and received the award at the White House from First Lady Michelle Obama.

We have availability for 16 young girls, and several are returning from last year. Please complete the application as soon as possible.  Once the application is received, I will contact you with the acceptance, to be followed by a registration form.  I really look forward to taking this journey with you. Our magnificent theatre staff is anxiously awaiting this summer’s first-ever virtual GLT program!

Girlstories Leadership Theatre 2021

The program dates are June 17 to July 2 – 8:30 am to noon for rising 5th and 6th-grade girls and 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm for rising 7th and 8th-grade girls.   For these twelve days we will be meeting at the theatre at 2015 W. Kennedy Blvd.  We will be practicing all important and necessary COVID precautionary guidelines to assure safety.  This program will have a curriculum that emphasizes theatre, leadership, performance, music, art, and dance.  There will be evening performances following the 12 days (exact date and times to be determined). These performances will likely be live-streamed from the theatre.  

All the Girlstories staff are returning from last year. They include Krista Blanchette – Director and Stefanie Coren and Syd Gordon, both Teaching Artists. All personnel have extensive theatre and education experience working with youth.

The cost is $75.00. If you require a scholarship, please request one by emailing Fran@Powerstories.com.
